pH is a measure of acidity or alkalinity, which matters because nutrients are more or less available at different levels of acidity and affect the absorption of nutrients essential for plant growth. Nutrient lockout will occur if pH level is unbalanced. By maintaining a stable and adequate pH level, you will obtain healthy plants that will show a more vigorous growth and, consequently, will produce better harvests.
Plants grown in hydroponics grow best when the pH is maintained between 5.8 and 6.3. When working with soilless crops, keep the pH between 6.0 and 6.5.
Add a few drops of MadLab pH UP or DOWN to the nutrient solution to adjust the pH level. Test and repeat the process until your pH levels is adequate. For optimal results, check the pH level daily. Do not mix pH UP and pH DOWN together.
